The centre will give access to a wide range of scientists, said Academician Valentin Vlasov, director of the centre which has been established in a three storey 3,000 square metre facility on the premises of the Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine in Novosibirsk.
'There will be a bank of cells. We will be able to draw diseased cells from patients and work with them,' he said.
The centre will also work on regenerating human organs and tissues with stem cells.
It will welcome specialists in genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics from any biology-oriented institution.
'We are planning a wide range of research into biotechnology', he said. The facilities 'meet international superclean-space standards and can therefore be used to not only do research but also to produce drugs', said the Skrin Newswire.
