Female Police Major falls to her death from fifth floor window in Khabarovsk

Criminal police officer and mother of one’s lifeless body was found by a nine storey block of flats at 58, Ussuriysky bulvar. 

Indoor CCTV cameras caught Ekaterina in her civilian clothes walking to the ninth floor and trying to get to the rooftop of the building.

‘There is a bar on the ninth floor, so she started to walk downstairs. The staircase windows in our block are quite high, and relatively small’, said a local resident. 

Fingerprints were taken from a window frame between the fifth and the sixth floors of the building.

Ekaterina died instantly, according to a video by another CCTV camera. 

‘We were told that she lives at Bolshaya Street. We don’t know why she came here’, said another resident from the block of flats at Ussuriyskaya Street, some 5km from Ekaterina’s residential address.

Ekaterina was a witness in a criminal extortion case against her former boss. 

She was giving evidence against the officer who was suspected of bribing his subordinates. 

The investigation in this case is ongoing.

The officer in question retired from police before the criminal case was launched. His current job is not in law enforcement. 

Local media reported that there was a to do list found in Ekaterina which had to be completed until a certain point.

There was no information if there were any other notes. 

The police officer is survived by her teenage daughter, who will be raised by Ekaterina’s elderly mother.
