A five-month-old puppy with unusually coloured eyebrows was picked by volunteers at the outskirts of Bratsk, and placed into Dobrie Ruki (Kind Hands) shelter.
Carers gave her a good wash, suspecting that somebody played a cruel joke and dyed the dog’s eyebrows.
‘I’ve been working here at the shelter for a very long while but never saw anything like this’, said keeper Olesya Novopoltseva.
Local vet Nadezhda Grozetskaya described the unusual pigmentation as ‘nature’s joke’ and predicted the same eyebrows might appear in a generation.
‘This is the case of hair pigmentation which doesn’t depend on a breed. Like a birthmark it might become a bit lighter with years but it will never disappear’, she explained.

Prospective families however were put off by the dog’s look, and she spent days at the shelter until her current owner Oksana saw an online plea to adopt ‘Frida’.
She said she felt so sorry for the dog that was rejected because of her unusual appearance that she immediately decided to adopt her.
‘I actually cried when I saw a post about her, and said that she was to become my dog.'
'She is now called Betty and she is incredibly smart, she already made friends with my 17 year old cat’, Oksana told BST.Bratsk news website.

As Betty is getting used to her new home, Russian social media are going into overdrive reposting her pictures.
Soon she is to appear on a popular Russian federal TV show with presenter Andrey Malakhov.
Archeologists discovered a new stone bracelet, two sharp pins, a marble ring and fox tooth pendants.
